A Story that tells us the silence of the Andes
On October 13, 1972, a Uruguayan Air Force plane was lost in the Andes mountain range. On the flight was a rugby team of Uruguayan students who were heading to Chile, after making a stopover in the city of Mendoza, Argentina, they would continue to Santiago, a place that flight n° 571 and its 45 passengers would never arrive at.
That day the plane suffered an accident, after losing its course it suddenly found itself in a mountain range and in its last maneuver to correct course, and try not to collide – a maneuver that the plane failed to do – it lost its tail on the top of those cliffs that would eventually become part of the mountains that were faithful witnesses to this outcome, and that would also shelter the survivors for 72 days, missing from the rest of the world.
16 survivors were exposed to all kinds of survival pressures, some of them managing to reach Chile after literally crossing the Andes mountain range and finding help to end the 72 days of survival, on the VALELE DE LAS LAGRIMAS glacier.
There we will arrive with our ride and see the place where the boys survived

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE RIDE AND OUR SERVICES
Our service begins today with our contact with those who want to join us on our incredible journey, sharing and discovering an incredible story.
We take as a starting point a meeting in the city of Mendoza to formalize and coordinate schedules with the participants. We recommend travelling to the city of Malargue and sleeping one night there, which makes the trip shorter, as you have to drive about 50 km of gravel road, which is often in bad conditions, or rather, it is always a road in bad conditions, and to this stretch we add about 4 hours on the first day of riding, which makes it a very hard day for the drivers.
So we start the services and the expedition at the animal and muleteer’s station where we wait for the arrival of all the participants to have a good picnic in the corral while the animals are saddled and the loads for the mules are received. Afterwards we will have a short talk so that together we can see how to take care of the animals and then we will start the ride to the Barroso camp.
The rides are done at a slow pace to enjoy the scenery, the animals are tame and we are always under the supervision of the baqueanos, in each section we take a break to eat something and continue on to the destination, whatever we need, we always go all together.
Once at the camp we will have a dining room for the exclusive use of the
